Twenty-five years after its debut, timeless Cantonese television show “A Step into the Past” is coming to the silver screen as “Back to the Past” the movie! From now until 21 January 2026, Ngong Ping 360 will host “Ngong Ping 360 x ‘Back to the Past’”, bringing the Hong Kong classic to the Ngong Ping Cable Car and Ngong Ping Village, inviting guests to travel back to the ancient!
A 2.1m-tall “Back to the Past” special edition BE@RBRICK makes a surprise appearance at Ngong Ping, recreating the magnificent presence of the Qin Dynasty's Terracotta Warrior. The BE@RBRICK is complemented by movie costumes exhibition and themed cable cars, welcoming fans to immerse themselves in the world of the Qin Dynasty!

Stars from the “Back to the Past”, including Louis Koo, Raymond Lam, Jessica Hsuan, Michael Miu, Sonija Kwok, Joyce Tang, Timmy Hung, Eric Tsui, Ng Wing Sze, and director Jack Lai, joined James Tung, Managing Director of Ngong Ping 360, at the Ngong Ping Village today (22 December 2025).
The lead star of “Back to the Past”, Louis Koo says, “What makes ‘Back to the Past’ special is that despite being a TV drama from long ago, it still receives tremendous support as it transforms into the movie today. I recently noticed online that many people who haven't seen the original series are watching it because of the upcoming movie - I find this quite remarkable. 2.1m-tall Terracotta Warrior Design Sculpture Stands Majestically
The “Back to the Past” special edition BE@RBRICK stands 2.1 meters tall, designed in the style of a Terracotta Warrior. It is located at Ngong Ping Market Place and is available for fans to visit from now until 21 January, 2026. Don’t miss out!
Apart from viewing the “Back to the Past” special edition BE@RBRICK on display, a globally limited edition of the “Back to the Past” special edition BE@RBRICK will be released at later date. Stay tuned to the official social media platforms for the announcement of the sale date.
Movie Costume Exhibition and Movie-Themed Cable Cars
Continue the Classic Story's Time-Travel Theme
During the event period, the Ngong Ping Cable Car Terminal Souvenir Shop showcases the costumes from “Back to the Past”, including those worn by Louis Koo as Hong Siu-long, Jessica Hsuan as Wu Ting-fong, Sonija Kwok as Kam Ching, and Kevin Chu as Hong Po-yee, giving fans a first glimpse of the sequel's style 25 years later and experiencing the cross-time charm.
From now to 31 January 2026, three standard cabin cable cars are transformed into a “Back to the Past”-themed Cable Car, bringing guests to immerse themselves in the battle of wits and courage between Hong Siu-long and Emperor Ying Zheng.
